About Lee Tripi

Lee Tripi

Senior Landscape Designer

While working his way through college at The University of Akron, Lee gained valuable experience apprenticing for designer R. Hunker Assocs. on landscape projects in Peninsula, Ohio. Working under a seasoned designer, it gave Lee an opportunity to learn in a professional and established design firm.

In 1990, Lee started working as an independent designer, taking on both residential and commercial landscape commissions. Here he established Lee Tripi Design, specializing in Xeriscaping, and sustainable site layout. Additionally, Lee found a niche as an expert on Japanese style gardens using native plantings. His favorite aesthetic can be described as fusing Prairie sensibility and drought tolerant strategies with time tested Asian design principles of harmonious, natural and meditative landforms. The result is often an oasis and a place to which we can retreat and relax.

Today, Lee Tripi Design undertakes landscape design initiatives and creates master plans for new residential construction and restorations in the Front Range area of Colorado.

Lee is a certified Master Gardener and teaches the Advanced Landscape Design III course at Front Range Community College in Westminster, Colorado. Lee enjoys passing on his experience by mentoring new students and espousing landscape design as the purest artform.

Now, in the thirty-sixth year of his career, Lee has no intention of slowing down. His passion for natural landscape designing and gardening is truly a blessing, as his innate creativity is manifested in every project he undertakes.
